Abacus Program

​

the Abacus Program is a special program for children 4-12 years of age (or older) that enables them to do mental arithmetics and various calculations. If you, like many other parents at first, are thinking, “why let our kids go through all that trouble when they could just use a calculator?”

 

The answer is that by learning to use the abacus, the child is effectively developing his/her right brain, which will significantly enhance their mental capabilities to positively affect all facets of their lives. Such benefits from the study of abacus have been proven by many research studies, such as those conducted by Ms. Shizuko Amaiwa. Day by day, we see increasingly more evidence to back up the above theories. A much higher-than-average percentage of our students are accepted into the gifted program at school after participating within the abacus. Students are finding (as is also observed by their parents) that since they have started abacus classes, their memory has improved, they are more able to concentrate for longer periods of time, and they have become more creative and artistic. As a direct result, the students are getting better grades in school, and are more confident in themselves and what they’re capable of achieving.
